Wes Wagner for Governor Social, next Tuesday, August 24th, 5:30pm, at McMenamin’s John Barleycorn’s, 14610 SW Sequoia Pkwy., Portland. The meeting will be for anyone interested in volunteering for Wagner’s campaign for governor.

Hillsboro Washington County GOP Meetup, Tuesday, August 24th, 7-9pm, Elmers Restaurant, 390 SW Adams St., Hillsboro. Topics to be discussed include the state party platform and the state convention, plus some local candidates may appear.
Beaverton/Tigard Washington County GOP Meetup, Thursday, August 26th, 7-9pm, Beaverton Resource Center. 12500 SW Allen Blvd., Beaverton. Same format as the Hillsboro meetup. They also plan to have a time for attendees to provide an update or make a short 2-3 minute presentation.
Sherwood/Tualatin Washington County GOP Meetup, Tuesday, September 14th, 6-7:30pm, Island Greens, 20400 SW Cipole Rd., Tualatin. This is at a private office. Topics to be discussed include Precinct Committee Person training, meeting Oregon Senate Candidate from District 17 Stevan Kirkpatrick, and a Q & A session.
3rd Quarter Washington County GOP Central Committee Meeting, Thursday, September 30th, 7-9:30pm, Beaverton Resource Center, Large Community Room, 12500 SW Allen Blvd., Beaverton. RSVP required.
You, Wu, and Brew, tonight, Wednesday August 18th, 5:30pm- end, at the On Deck Sports Bar & Grill, 910 NW 14th Ave., Portland. This is the 9th annual event.
Every Wednesday is Come Stand for Peace at the corner of SW 5th and Hall, across from the Beaverton Library, from 6:30 – 7:30pm.
Canvass for Margaret Doherty, candidate for House District 35 in Tigard, Thursday August 19th, 3pm, and Saturday August 28th at 2pm. RSVP required.
An Evening in the Vineyard with Senator Ron Wyden, a benefit for the Washington County Democratic Party, Friday August 20th, 7-10pm, Garden Vineyards, 12960 NW Dick Rd., Hillsboro. This is not a free event, and an RSVP is required by tonight. There are vegetarian meal options available. General admission is $85/person, Veterans or PCP’s $75/person, or $125 for the private reception with the Senator at 6:00pm and dinner.
Canvass for Katie Riley, Saturday August 21st, 10:30am-2pm, in Forest Grove. She is also doing phone banking every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm-8:30pm.
Campaign Express, Sunday, August 22, 2pm. This is one of two events, the other will be Thursday September 16th, at 6pm, to be held at the Democratic Party of Washington County Office, 12250 SW Broadway, Beaverton. Snacks will be provided at the one this Sunday, and a small dinner at the September meeting. RSVP required. These sessions will provide training on working with candidates, answering questions, phone banking, and canvassing.
Town hall with Senator Bonamici and Representative Greenlick, Monday August 23rd at 7pm at the Good Samaritan Medical Center Auditorium, 1040 NW 22nd Ave. Dr. Bruce Goldberg, Director of DHS will be the guest speaker. The next night, August 24th, they will be joined by Representative Chris Harker at 7pm at the Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital East Pavilion Classrooms, 9205 SW Barnes Rd., Portland. These are open to the public.
Washington County Central Committee Meeting, Wednesday, August 25th, 6:30-9:00pm, PCC Willow Creek Center, 241 SW Edgeway Drive Room 103, Beaverton, at the Willow Creek TriMet Transit Center. Secretary of State Kate Brown is scheduled to be the guest speaker. This should also be an opportunity to meet local candidates for office.
A Conversation with Frmr. Gov. Kitzhaber, Friday August 27th, 7-9pm, at 21355 SW Hillsboro Hwy., Newberg . RSVP required.
Washington County Democrats Day at the Oregon State Fair, Friday August 27th, 9:30am-11pm. Washington County will be working the Democratic Party of Oregon booth at the fair, and they need volunteers. There are 12 total slots needed, 4 persons per shift, and 3 shifts of about 5 hours each. Anyone participating also gets free fair admission.
