The franchise started with Meet The Parents, a film that wasn’t all that bad, earned some decent reviews, and made a boatload of cash at the worldwide box office thanks to the palatable comedic chemistry between Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro. Then Universal got greedy and made Meet The Fockers, a sequel that no one was asking for and fewer people actually liked. Now they’re just rubbing our faces in it with Little Fockers, which just got a brand-new trailer that’s– and I swear I’m just as stunned as you are– even more annoying than the last trailer. About a month and a half ago, the first trailer for Little Fockers arrived online, and everyone was stunned by how awful it looked. The problem, of course, is that everyone’s repressed the memories of Meet The Fockers, and we’d forgotten how amazingly annoying comedy can be when it’s being rubbed in our faces by Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller. The Little Fockers trailer reminded us of that horrifying 90 minutes we spent in the theater watching Meet The Fockers, and that’s why we were all so depressed for a good week or so after it arrived.
Now there’s a second trailer, and– get this– it’s even more depressing than the first one. Yes, the trailer that featured Ben Stiller jamming a syringe into Robert DeNiro’s junk has been topped. Yeah, I didn’t think it was possible, either.
