Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail July 6, in Beverly Hills, CA. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel sentenced the young actress after Lohan had violated her probation by not attending court-ordered alcohol education classes.
Before being sentenced, Lohan made an emotional plea, tearful plea to the judge, “I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up, “ adding, “I’ve learned from my experiences, I take responsibility for my actions.
Despite the, Mean Girls actress, plea, Judge Revel did not go easy on Lohan, adding 90 days in an in-patient rehab center to the sentence. According to the LA Times, Revel stated several instances when Lindsay lied to the court.
“There were a number of instances of [Lohan] not taking things seriously,” Revel said. “It’s like someone who cheats but doesn’t think it’s cheating if they don’t get caught.”
Adding more flame to the fire, employees from the court-ordered alcohol education classes testified Lohan missed several classes so far this year, reports Boston Herald.
Lohan did not have to surrender immediately. She has till July 20 to turn herself in.
In May, Revel ordered Lohan to wear an Alcohol monitoring bracelet after Lohan had missed a court date.
These charges stemmed from Lohan’s violation of her probation after pleading guilty two being under the influence of cocaine, reckless driving, and drunk driving in 2007.
