Nashville’s 4th of July Celebration Lasts Three Days!
Middle Tennessee’s largest 4th of July celebration and the third largest 4th of July fireworks display in the country has gotten so big, it now takes three days to put on the full show! Visitors to Nashville’s Let Freedom Sing event will be treated to a patriotic party all weekend long with fireworks every night. Special guests at Let Freedom Sing 2010 include Jaci Velasquez, Julianne Hough, and Trace Adkins.
Let Freedom Sing – July 2: General Jackson Showboat
Beginning on July 2, the first event is the General Jackson Showboat 25th Anniversary Celebration, where for only $8, visitors can take a boat trip down the recently flooded Cumberland River and enjoy some birthday cake and punch while listening to a free concert by Chuck Wicks followed by fireworks.

On July 3, the official “A Prelude to the 4th” gets guests warmed up for the July 4 celebration. The 3rd of July festivities and family fun start at noon and continue well into the night with a Julianne Hough concert followed by more fireworks. Hough recently performed in Nashville as part of the 2010 CMA Music Fest.
Let Freedom Sing – July 4: Jaci Velasquez, Julianne Hough, Trace Adkins, Fireworks & More!
Of course, the main event takes place on July 4 and runs all day and all night long. During our nation’s birthday, guests can visit Lower Broad where inflatables, giveaways and plenty of food, drink and souvenirs await visitors. At 2pm the music kicks off with Jordyn Shellhart, Calico Trail, Damien Horne and Jessie James.
Sunday night the concert goes into high gear with gospel artist Jaci Velasquez, as well as Julianne Hough and Trace Adkins. The night culminates in the spectacular fireworks display on the banks of the Cumberland River, choreographed to the music of the Grammy-winning Nashville Symphony. Bring a lawn chair, and come early to avoid the parking hassles. If you are planning to stay all day, you might want to read How to practice safe sun for the 4th of July – 5 tips to prevent sunburn.
