Red, White and Boogie Festival –Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort
Wonder Boogie is a 70’s themed band that encompasses everything 70’s from covering the BeeGees to sporting bell bottoms and platform shoes of the disco era. They currently perform regularly at Harrah’s in Las Vegas, but for one special night, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort is hosting them for a 4th of July celebration. The event will take place at the resort’s pool from 7:30-10:30pm and attendees can purchase the “Sip, Savor and Splash” package which includes overnight stays at the Fairmont (about $150 a night) and a $50 food credit at the hotel. The 4th of July cookout is an additional fee (adults $15, kids ages 6-12 $9, ages 5 and under are free), which is good towards the Wonder Boogie live show and Dyno-mite cookout buffet.
Tempe Town Lake Festival—Tempe, AZ
The annual 4th of July fireworks show is back in town at Tempe Town Lake. Gates open at 4pm and feature fun and family friendly events such as a Splash Playground sponsored by AZcentral, and inflatable jumper, face painting, carnival rides, rock climbing wall, and food court. For adults, there will be a Budweiser Beer Garden and live music such as Big Zephyr and Casey Lee Smith. Fireworks will commence at 9pm, so get your tickets today! Tickets can be purchased in advanced at any local Fry’s Marketplace or ProTix for $6 (adults) and kids 12 and under are free. In recognition of our armed forces, entry for all military personnel will also be free. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $8 the day of, or 2 for $15. Feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs as well as sealed water bottles, however outside food, weapons and pets are prohibited.
Also, check local traffic reports for road closures. There are park and rides available at Tempe Marketplace, Tempe Sports Complex, Tempe Library Complex, and Arizona Mills Mall. The MetroRail will also be in service to take those to and from the event.
4th of July Grand Ol’ Family Picnic—Scottsdale Stadium
This event is suitable for all families, particularly those with young children who do not plan on seeing fireworks at night since it might scare the little ones or be past their bedtime. Families can bring their own foods to grill at the park (hot dogs will be provided free of charge!) and have a cute little picnic. Family fun activities include tug of war and watermelon eating contests. Since there are no fireworks at this event, it will run during the day from 4-7pm. Admission is free for all ages.
7UP Fireworks Spectacular—Chandler Tumbleweed Park
Home to the annual Ostrich Festival, Tumbleweed Park will host a fireworks sensation in Chandler this Sunday on the 4th of July. This event is family friendly and pet friendly, so feel free to bring all of your loved ones and furry little friends. In the afternoon, the Chandler Lions Club will provide fun activities such as live music, free carnival games for kids, a “Push, Pull, Peddle Bike Parade”, amusement park rides, and a rock climbing wall. Food and coolers are allowed inside, although you are encouraged to purchase drinks at the event to support local funds. Admission is free to all ages (all games are free too!), however there is a parking fee of $5 per car.
