Here we go again. One of the Mayweathers opened up their mouths once more instead of simply having Floyd Mayweather Jr. sign on the the dotted line to end all the nonsense. And the message is pretty much the same, but the timing is definitely telling.
Floyd’s trainer and uncle Roger Mayweather Jr. has come out from hiding now that Manny Pacquiao is set to face Antonio Margarito in November with the same old rhetoric. A few weeks ago when people were waiting for Team Mayweather’s response to a fight with Manny Pacquiao, they were denying the negotiations existed when even neutral parties such as HBO said they did. The Mayweather camp was in full denial and the tandem of Floyd and Roger were as silent as they’ve ever been since they broke into national consciousness.
Roger was quoted by Boxscorenews.com saying,
“You saw what happened when we got Shane in that ring; Floyd put an ass whooping on him and guess what, we got the same for Manny too,” said Mayweather.
Roger continued, “we got something for this mother f**ker. He ain’t doing nothing but living on borrowed time and he knows it.”
“Manny can’t fight. He ain’t shit.”
So why come out again out of nowhere to talk now?
This is the kind of nonsense the Mayweather camp continues to subject boxing fans who have no choice but to listen since they want to see this super fight happen. But instead of just fighting, the Mayweathers have so much excuses, reasons and a ton of more trash talk as opposed to just really fighting Pacquiao.
Roger further stressed,
“My nephew brought this testing up because going into the fight with Shane Mosley, Shane had a history of using substances. And now with Manny, we got our suspicions.”
“Floyd ain’t asking no one to do nothing that he isn’t willing to do himself.”
“You saw what happened when we got Shane in that ring; Floyd put an ass whooping on him and guess what, we got the same for Manny too,”
Message to Roger: Shut the hell up and cut the BS. We already heard what you said about the steroids Pacquiao is using that according to you, made Filipino soldiers bulletproof 500 years ago. Are you serious? Get out of here with that pipe talk. You must be high or something. If the Philippines had such a drug then you’d have 30 world champion fighters from the Philippines right now. And 500 years ago, the Philippines didn’t even know what Americans were.
Cut the hypocrisy about these steroids lies. When your nephew fought Mosley, the last date of the testing was cut off at 18 days for both fighters. Pacquiao had agreed to 14, and there is absolutely no sense to take steroids in the last 13 days prior to a fight when 7 days before a fight, boxers start tapering off. Just fight if your boy truly isn’t scared. We’ve heard all the excuses possible from money, vacations, retirements to drugs and your jail time. We know about Pacquiao’s past, but this fight is about now. So what if the guy lost 3 times prior to 2005. Pacquiao wants to fight you today in 2010 when he has vastly improved and was hailed the fighter of the decade.
Just shut up and do the talking with your fists in the ring.
