Over the past few years, DreamField Productions have become a staple name in the county. Deemed as a fun place to be, DreamField has hosted all kinds of events from charity shows and benefit concerts, to even live radio shows.
Donnie and Roxanne James, also owners of James and Company Antique Timbers and Flooring in Collinsville, began DreamField as a way to create environmental awareness and to showcase local musical talent. It’s a way for them to give back to a community they love.
The name has significant meaning. Roxanne admits to being a big dreamer and believes anything is possible. DreamField is indicative of the movie Field of Dreams where “If you build it, they will come.” “Dream” in the name also stands for “Donnie and Roxanne’s Earth Awareness Movement”. Every year they host “A View From Earth”, an Earth Day celebration in April.
DreamField Productions also plays host to a live radio show on Sunday nights on Rock 105.9/98.3. Donnie James, who hosts the show, interviews musicians from around the area and gives them a chance to be heard on the radio. DreamField is also a recording studio, having provided the sound for many events around the area including the band Alabama’s Christmas event, UFO Days Festival in Fyffe, Randy Owen concerts, and more.
“I take my dreams in all different directions,” Roxanne James tells DCE.
