Tonight, on “The Bachelorette”…
Flakey Frank flew the coop.
Buh bye…don’t let the tiki torch burn your back side when you leave.
With all of the tabloid talk and television previews leading up to tonight’s show, Frank’s big “bombshell” was more like a sparkler. He came, he cried, he scampered away like the weenie his is…end of story. Well, a little more on that story later.
But first, the two contenders left standing: Roberto and Chris.
Tiki torches, turquoise waters…what’s not to love about Tahiti?
Ali’s dates with Roberto and Chris can be summed up quite simply: swimming, kissing, Ali giggling, kissing, dinner by candlelight, kissing, the men confessing that they’re in love with Ali and want to spend the rest of their life with her, kissing, a note from host Chris Harrison that included a key to a “couples’ fantasy suite” should they decide to forego their separate rooms, kissing and well…we can only imagine – this is NOT cable TV remember!
But not before viewers were treated to a cheesy, Little Mermaid like moment with a silhouetted Ali in the water, flipping her hair back. We half expected her to break into her own rendition of “Under the Sea.”
At this point, it’s a toss up between these two – Ali seems equally happy with each one. Perhaps the upcoming time spent with her family will shed some light on who might be Mr. Ali Fedotowsky.
But on to Frank…
And the Razzie for worst Supporting Actress in a reality series goes to…
While packing his suitcase for his next Ali adventure, Frank informed us that while he should be heading to Tahiti for an overnight date with Ali…he wasn’t. Instead, he was headed to Chicago to see his ex-girlfriend Nicole.
Frank said, “I came here [the show] to fall in love with Ali – and I did. But, something is holding me back.”
That “something” would be his ex-girlfriend Nicole – her very existence just a teeny tiny little detail he conveniently forgot to tell Ali. Apparently, while Frank was falling for Ali, it was Nicole’s face that he couldn’t get out of his head. So, he felt he had to go and see Nicole to find out once and for all if he was in this with Ali with his whole heart or if perhaps, part of his heart still belonged to Nicole.
Hi ho, hi ho…it’s off to Nicole’s apartment he goes.
Oh come on…as if Nicole didn’t know that Frank was about to knock on her apartment door…in the words of Chad Ochocinco…”Child, PLEASE!”
Let’s just say that Nicole is not going to win an Emmy for her portrayal of “shocked ex-girlfriend” when she opened her apartment door to find Frank standing there…looking pathetic.
Now…one wonders – if your boyfriend left you and went on a reality show where he spent his time making out and pining for the affections of a very attractive women, would your first instinct when he showed up at your door be to hug him, let alone welcome him in? But she did.
Jerry Ma – who?
Basically, they talked and he professed his love for her. She in turn professed her’s for him saying, “I never thought that somebody could complete somebody.” Clearly, Nicole has never seen Jerry Maguire. They kissed, caressed faces, the viewing audience ran to grab a barf bag, viola…Frank and Nicole were back together.
But first, he had to “man up” and tell poor Ali.
Blah, blah, blah…
So, Frank went to Tahiti to break the news to Ali. But first, he met with host Chris Harrison (who knew about Nicole) to fill him in on what was happening. To Chris’ credit, he did go all Oprah on Frank and ask the questions viewers were wondering about, like “Everything seemed perfect just last week, the hometown date seemed to go so well and now all of the sudden…this?” And, “Why did you wait so long to come clean to Ali? Why let things get this far?”
He tried to explain but it was lame – bottom line: he wasn’t upfront and honest with Ali.
Not surprisingly, Ali didn’t take the news too well – and understandably so. He tried to explain to Ali that while he was falling for her, he had these other feelings brewing inside of him and he had to see if there was anything to them. Frankly (no pun intended) it explains a lot of Frank’s “distant”, tormented-looking behavior throughout the season.
“Why didn’t you just tell me. We could have talked about it,” said Ali.
He really had no good excuse as to why he let things go as far as he did with Ali before confessing to his conflicted feelings. Needless to say, Frank likely won’t be invited to Ali’s wedding (should there be an engagement at the season finale.)
Meet the Fedotowsky Family
Next week, Chris and Roberto head to Bora Bora with Ali to meet her family (dang…does the South Pacific Fedotowsky family reunion include fifth cousins twice removed? Former dog sitters? Loyal television viewers?)
Says Melissa M of Cincinnati, “I hope she picks Chris. I love Roberto but Chris is so cute and she just fits with him and his family better.”
Cincinnati: What did you think of Frank going back to Nicole? Who do you think will get the final rose?
