Episode 8 of Season 2 of ABC’s “True Beauty” was the last episode of the season, and the program where the winner, Taylor Bills, was announced tonight on WKRN in Nashville.
Contestants on Season 2, Episode 8 of “True Beauty”
- Retail manager Craig Franczyk
- Actress/model/singer/songwriter Erika Othen
- Former pro baseball player Taylor Bills
The season two judges are Beth Ostrosky Stern, Carson Kressley and Vanessa Minnillo.
True Beauty: Final Episode
After the departure of Amy Schmoldt last week, the three finalists had a last challenge before discovering who would win “The Face of Vegas” and be crowned the winner of Season Two of “True Beauty.” Before going in to tonight’s competition, Erika Othen and Taylor Bills had both won two challenges and Craig Franczyk had won one. Erika had only lost one hidden challenge to Taylor’s two and Craig’s five.
True Beauty: Episode 8 – Erika Othen
Beth Stern mentioned she had liked Erika from the beginning, and Vanessa Minnillo agreed but brought up Erika’s earlier catty remarks about Liz Parada. The judges questioned if the sweet girl they saw everyday was fake or the if the woman who made the catty remarks in private was the “real Erika.”
True Beauty: Episode 8 – Taylor Bills
About Taylor Bill, Minillo pointed out, “He always takes the time to stop what he’s doing to help someone else out.” Carson, who has definitely had his eye on Taylor all season and even proposed to him at the wedding chapel, enthusiastically pointed out Taylor’s finer points.
True Beauty: Episode 8 – Craig Franczyk
All the judges liked Craig, and Carson was particularly effusive going so far as to say Craig “didn’t know better” when he stole the vest. Milinllo raised her eyebrow as she gave Carson a level look and said, “He knew better,” firmly, to which Beth agreed.
True Beauty: Episode 8 – The Judges Dilemma
The judges said it was all down to how sincere the final contestants’ pleas would be. This was Erika’s first time at a face off, and she appeared nervous as she talked about how compassionate and loyal she is.
Craig brought the infamous stolen vest with him, and when the judges talked about his bad choices, Craig stepped forward with the vest and turned it over to the judges. He appeared very humble and very sincere as he owned up to his mistakes.
Minillo talked to Taylor about his temper tantrums, and Taylor also appeared very sincere, humble and apologetic. He said he wants to be a role model, not just for Vegas, but for every life he touches.
True Beauty – Taylor Bill Wins Season Two
The judges told Craig he came in 3rd place. He accepted it very graciously and said he had learned a lot about humilty and that he planned to apply it to the rest of his life. Erika and Taylor held hands while a slot machine showed the winner: first Taylor’s picture, then Erika’s, then Taylor’s making Taylor the winner of the second season of “True Beauty.”
Although Erika was never in a face off and won more hidden challenges than Taylor, according to the judges, some of the contestants thought Erika was “fake.” That and her catty remarks about Liz counted against her more than Taylor’s temper and drinking. Erika was as gracious about her second place win as Craig had been about his third place honors. She said the comepetition had changed her for the better. While confetti money rained down, Carson hugged Taylor and said, “You deserved it.”
