As has been the case for the past two seasons here at the page, I will be taking an in-depth look at each “Survivor: Nicaragua” contestant leading up to the season premiere on September 15.
As we are going in alphabetical order based on last names, we begin this week with Jill Behm.
Name: Jill Behm
Occupation: Emergency room doctor
Residence: Erie, Pennsylvania
Strengths: Jill seems to be very intelligent, which can go a long way in this game if you learn how to keep your head on straight. One of the new variables we have to consider this time around is that the challenges will likely be less physical to even the playing field between Espada (the older tribe) and La Flor. Since Jill has to think on her feet as an ER doctor, she could do very well in this regard.
Weakness: Jill seems like very much her own person, which could lead to disagreements if she gets in with the wrong group of people. She also has to avoid the “I’m smarter than everyone so I can order them around” disease that plagues people early in the game. Finally, there’s one thing that bugs me in her introduction video — even though Jill thinks she is the most well-rounded person in the game, she still believes that there are people more determined than her. If that’s the case, those people will win.
Past ‘Survivor’ Comparison: There hasn’t really been a female contestant quite like Jill, so I would say she is more of a cross between Marcus from “Gabon” (who was also a doctor) and Bob from that season in that she has experience being outdoors. She could have a little bit of Tina from “Exile Island” in her, but that may not be a great thing since she left so early.
Early prediction: One of the biggest tests for Jill will be if she can fit in early. If so, she really has the tools to go far. With so many other successful people (like Jimmy Johnson, Marty, and Dan) on her tribe, being an ER doctor won’t be the negative it was during some past seasons. With the right alliance in place, Jill could very well make it deep or even win this game.
Stay tuned for more spotlights leading up to the big premiere!
