Within this Mexican surfing mecca, you’ll stay at the new Ranchos Pescaderos, a waterfront retreat located on 15 acres just a few miles outside of town. Named in Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List in 2010, each of the property’s 12 oceanfront suites are minimalist and sophisticated with floor-to-ceiling terrace doors that can slide entirely into the wall for sprawling ocean views.

Each retreat provides plenty of time to explore the picturesque town’s charming restaurants, shops and galleries or enjoy nearby hiking or horseback riding.
