So the end of summer is here and the kids will be going back to school in a week or two. A great way to wrap up the summer for them would be to take a trip to the big Star Wars Celebration V, coming to the Orange County Convention Center.
From Thursday, August 12th, kicking off the festivities, until Sunday August 15th, when things will wind down, you’ll find everything Star Wars, and then some!
Star Wars Celebration is the official Lucasfilm event celebrating all things Star Wars, produced by fans for fans. Celebrations are the largest Star Wars parties, featuring cast and crew celebrities, fans, costumes, music, live entertainment, autographs, collectibles, and panels – but mainly friends who gather to have fun and celebrate their love for the saga. From fans who first experienced A New Hope in theaters to kids just discovering Star Wars through Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Celebration touches on anything and everything connected with that galaxy far, far away. The first such event took place in 1999, and we’re proud to host the fifth Celebration in 2010!
Special Guests include the man behind the movies, George Lucas, who will be interviewed by Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart on Saturday, August 14th. A huge array of stars will be there to sign autographs which will dizzy the mind. The original Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill, Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, Jake Lloyd, who played young Anakin Skywalker, Sith Lord, Ray Park, Matt Wood, who played General Grievious, and many, many more will be there! Click here for a complete list of guests at the convention.
While children under 6-years-old do not require a ticket to attend Star Wars Celebration, all individuals, regardless of age, require a wristband to attend The Main Event. In order to maintain an accurate seat count, you must wear a wristband to attend. If you plan to attend The Main Event with children and if you plan to arrive in the early morning, please be mindful of their safety, wellbeing, and attention span.
This is going to be an amazing event for Central Florida, and you can buy your tickets online now for the convention. Bring the entire family and dress up like your favorite character as you look through booths, play interactive games and even meet your favorite star from the movies!
