Beginning in September, The Langham, Boston welcomes the return of Boston ’s two favorite decadent buffets. The Chocolate Bar kicks off its 22nd year with the theme, Five Elements of Taste, and City Brunch returns from summer vacation with an expanded menu.
Get ready to tempt your chocolate cravings and indulge because beginning on Saturday, Sept. 11, The Langham, Boston welcomes the return of Boston ’s favorite dessert wonderland, The Chocolate Bar. Entering its 22nd year, the new theme, Five Elements of Taste, will leave you wanting more. Try Pastry Chef, Jed Hackney’s innovative creations featuring salty, sour, bitter, sweet, and savory flavors. Desserts include Stuffed Soft Pretzels, Raspberry Filled Beignets, White Chocolate and Lemon Meringue Tart, and Chocolate Almond Financier. Several old favorites will also return including the legendary Langham Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding, Cotton Candy, and Whoopie Pies.
The launch of City Brunch will feature a variety of stations and buffet items to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Executive Chef, Mark Sapienza , takes the flavors of New England and has created a Sunday City Brunch buffet unlike any other brunch in the city. Being a Boston native, Chef Sapienza offers a variety locally sourced and produced foods, in addition to house-made items. Chef Sapienza has a direct relationship with local farmers and artisan food purveyors to offer the best meat, seafood, cheese, fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
Dine on items such as Roasted Beets with Lakes End Goat Cheese and Marcona Almonds; Beef Carpaccio with Arugula, Parmesan and Garlic Aioli; Duck Prosciutto wrapped Roasted Red Pear with Lavender Honey; Yellowfin Tuna Poke with Ponzu Sesame; Fresh House Made Mozzarella, and Vine Ripe Tomato, Basil, Sea Salt and Virgin Olive Oil. One of Sapienza’s signature dishes always available in Café Fleuri and a dish not to miss at the City Brunch, is the House Smoked Maple Cured Atlantic Salmon. No brunch is complete without a morning cocktail from the Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar.
Visit the Chocolate Bar in Café Fleuri every Saturday from Sept. 11, through June 25, 2011, and City Brunch on Sundays from Sept. 12 through June 26, 2011. The Chocolate Bar is $38 for adults and $25 for children ages 5 to 12 and City Brunch is $48 for adults and $25 for children ages 5 to 12.
