Hills is certainly appropriate, located on rolling terrain on W 130th North of Route 303 between Hinckley and Brunswick, this course certainly has pines and hills.
Hinckley is a hot bed of golf, with several excellent courses in the area, must be the hills.
The staff here does and excellent job, the fairways are perfect despite not being the classy “bent” grass, the turf is healthy and thick yet cut tight. The greens are smooth and range from lighting to fast. Many have noticeable tilt from back to front, making putting from above the hole an adventure at least. A few years ago, they replaced #2 and #17 with new holes and redesigned # 14. Great move, #14 is now a difficult dogleg left par 4, with a tree in the fairway that may challenge you to work the ball around it. #17 is a strong uphill par 4 a perfect compliment to a strong finish at 18. These holes have grown in seamlessly with the rest of the course. The only weak spot is the rough ranges from thick to sparse, but then if you don’t like the rough, don’t hit it there.

Pine Hills #4
This is a shotmakers golf course. Control your ball and you can score here, but get it above the hole or short side yourself off the green and bogeys and worse lurk everywhere. The third hole is a wonderful short risk/reward type par 4, a dogleg right, drive it up over the trees and you might reach the green or you might end up in the ravine, it is a bit of a lottery. A well positioned layup still leaves a short wedge to a slick green. The par 5’s are attack holes reachable for many players. And finally #18, a straight tee shot is a must, but it does not need to be long, the fairway ends at around 260 from the back tees, then you play across the ponds, and uphill to the green, doesn’t look hard, but bogeys are common.
Clubhouse and 18 Green
A big open pro shop and grill awaits, nicely appointed with a nice selection of equipment. There is a practice area where with permission you may hit your own balls. The Pro’s here conduct lessons and clinics on this range so if you need a little help, give’em a call.
This is good golf personified. A great old course, with tons of character, coupled with a pleasant 19th hole will make your day in
Hinckley a memorable one. But remember, KEEP IT BELOW THE HOLE. J
