If there’s one memorable thing about “Rosalie Hale” and her actions in Breaking Dawn, it’s that she becomes a shield for “Bella” and her future baby, “Renesmee,” against almost everyone else that the two know and love.
Never before did these two characters really get along (though there was that informative discussion in Eclipse – which played out beautifully, of course, in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), but something about the post-Isle Esme circumstances “Bella” finds herself in draws “Rosalie” to her side . . . she wants to protect the baby.
Nikki Reed (who’ll reprise her role as “Rosalie” for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2) spoke up to MTV about that very issue, voicing her opinion as to why the character goes to such great lengths on this issue.
“I think that Rosalie just always wanted to be a mom, and that’s how I look at it . . . It has nothing to do with being pro-life or anything. I think it’s about her want, her need to be a mother, and this is the only opportunity she’s ever going to have, so she’s willing to let Bella die so she can have that and fulfill that, and that’s how I look at it. It’s her own personal desires,” she explained.
Do you agree with Reed’s assessment, or did you have other findings when reading these moments in Breaking Dawn?
