Naturally 7 opened for Michael Bublé on Wednesday evening at Nationwide Arena and proved one thing … they are absolutely sensational and just naturally good.
They kicked off their show with their version of “Feel It (In the Air Tonight)” and set the mood for an incredible evening, long to be remembered.
The group showed why they were selected by Michael Bublé to join him on his current “Crazy Love” tour. Naturally 7 is an American musical group from the New York area that has developed an a Capella vocal style they call “Vocal Play”.
Vocal Play combines strong vocals with the imitation of various musical instruments by using their vocal talent to create or simulate the sound of the instruments providing accompaniment. The seven wonders of the musical world didn’t disappoint.
Perhaps by appearance alone, Naturally 7 would almost cause you to think they are a rap group. Don’t be fooled by appearances because they’re not that at all. They don’t often wear suits but they don’t have their pants hanging down to their knees either. Above and beyond all that talent, they are a clean, wholesome, intelligent, polite and humble group of young men with an innate ability to rock a house without ever having to pack up and move any instruments and amplifiers out of a venue in which they are appearing.
People not familiar with the group looked for a band but didn’t find one. In disbelief and awe that the human voice could so aptly create such instrumental sounds, what they found was an extraordinary, poised, polished and talented group of young men with strong individual vocals, tight harmonies, the sound of a band playing instruments and a choreographed show all wrapped into one.
Naturally 7 jammed and rocked the house. They told the crowd that Michael Bublé told them to get the people ready. They did that and more! They made the crowd want to rise out of their seats and party the night away. From the comments heard around the arena, the crowd didn’t know what to expect but comments made during and after the show made it quite clear that the group gave a strong and powerful performance. One patron was overheard commenting that the group was a perfect opening act for Michael Bublé. It was obvious most of the folks in the arena felt the same way.
They showed Columbus that they have the ability to headline a show on their own and you can be certain wherever they’ve appeared, many other folks would attest to this thought. At the end of their show Columbus showed its appreciation and gave them a stirring and long standing ovation. Look forward to this group returning to Columbus and don’t be surprised if they are the headlining act.
