Today, Anaheim welcomed the start of the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Week. Disney is an active player in these festivities, which last from July 9 – July 13 and highlight the MLB All-Star Game. Among these experiences are an opportunity for Disney fans to seek out (and bid on) Mickey Mouse All-Star statues and see the All-Star Game parade from inside the Disneyland theme park.
Mickey Mouse All-Star statues celebrate baseball
Fan have the opportunity to visit, have their pictures taken with, and bid on life-size Mickey Mouse All-Star Statues.
Major League Baseball Properties and Disney Consumer Products placed 36 MLB-themed Mickey Mouse statues at various Southern California locations, including Angel Stadium, Anaheim City Hall, Downtown Disney, the Kodak Theater, Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, L.A. Live, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame area.
“Mickey Mouse just may be the most popular and most photographed All-Star this summer!” Anaheim City Mayor Curt Pringle said in a statement.
The Mickey Mouse statues, themed as “Disney’s #1 All-Star,” celebrate baseball and promote MLB All-Star Week. Each statue is 7 1/2 feet tall and weights 989 pounds. Their designs represent of the 30 Major League clubs, as well as four All-Star designs, and an American League and a National League design.
Fans who take a picture with one of the statues may participate in the Mickey Mouse All-Star Sweepstakes, which offers the opportunity to win a trip to the 2011 State Farm Home Run Derby® & All-Star Game®.
Baseball and Disney fans may also bid on the statues from July 9 through July 18 through MLB Auctions.
For those who prefer a more portable version of the Mickey statues, small statuettes are available through DisneyStore.com, MLB.com, MLB stadium stores, and other retailers. Other Disney All-Star merchandise, including hats and apparel, is also available.

Disneyland Resort highlight of All-Start Game Parade route
Disneyland Resort is a featured locale in the MLB All-Star Game parade, which begins Tuesday, July 13 at 11:30 a.m. PT. The parade route moves along Convention Way and Harbor Blvd. to Disney Way, where the parade’s public portion ends. The parade then continues, through Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland theme park. Disneyland guests will have the opportunity to watch the parade, then, from a close viewing spot.

MLB Network will telecast the parade nationally at 4:00 p.m. ET, airing a briefer version of the All-Star parade at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The 81st MLB All-Star game begins at 5 p.m. PT at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The game will be televised on FOX for national coverage and on MLB International for global coverage.
