What comes to mind when you think of Switzerland? Maybe snow capped Alps, world-class skiing, Swiss Army Knives or a Swiss bank account? What about chocolate? Switzerland in synonymous with chocolate and Lindt & Sprüngli has been producing superior chocolates for 165 years since its humble beginnings in Zurich in 1845. Much later, another Switzerland great was born, Roger Federer.
Roger Federer is considered by many to be the greatest tennis player of all time. He has won a male record 16 Grand Slam singles titles. He has also appeared in an unprecedented 22 career Grand slam finals. The list of his accomplishments goes on and on.
Switzerland is not all Lindt and Federer have in common. Lindt donated a percentage of the sales from its Lindt Gold Bunnies this past Easter to Autism Speaks. The corporation believes in philanthropy and often partners with charities to aid in fundraising efforts. Roger Federer also believes in supporting worthwhile causes. In 2003 he established the Roger Federer Foundation to help disadvantaged people and to promote sports. In 2005, he auctioned off his racquet from his U.S. Open championship to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. He has appeared in UNICEF public messages to raise awareness of AIDS. Most recently in response to the Haiti earthquake, Federer arranged a collaboration with fellow top tennis players to forgo their final day of preparation for the 2010 Australian Open to form a special charity event called Hit for Haiti. He later won the 2010 Australian Open!
Lindt & Sprüngli has teamed up with Roger Federer appointing him as the Lindt Global Brand Ambassador. In celebration of this new alliance, consumers are invited to visit Lindt.com to participate in “The Perfect Match” sweepstakes, a fun game matching different flavors of Lindt’s iconic smooth-melting Lindor Truffles.
Now through September 12, 2010, chocolate lovers have the chance to win daily prizes. Ok, so you won’t win the US Open, or Wimbledon or a shiny trophy like Federer, but you can win prizes, really good prizes! How about gift baskets full of Lindt premium chocolate products? There are also Lindt Truffle gift towers and Lindt Chocolate gift cards up for grabs. How would you like a Nike duffel bag autographed by Federer and filled with Lindor Truffles? Sound pretty good? Of course it does, but the grand prize sounds even better – a trip for two to Zurich, Switzerland! During the trip, the winner will attend a meet and greet with Federer and be given a personalized tour of the historic Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate plant. Now that is a perfect match!
Visit www.lindt.com to get into the game and Good Luck! Oh, and if you win, I had better be your guest on the trip!
