As we travel on our journey through this life, we may wonder sometimes where it is we are going. There are things that happen in which we feel lost and confused. It is like walking through a maze, unsure of which way we should turn. Some paths may look familiar, and in a way they all look the same. If we follow our inner guide, sometimes it’s necessary to go down a path we have already traveled to perhaps learn lessons again, and sometimes we will be led to different and unknown paths that only God knows why.
We may question God when our lives have become difficult. Why does He have to make it with so many twists and turns? Instead of making life like one big maze, why couldn’t He make it just a straight path as that would be so much easier to follow? There would be no question as to which way to go. Then, we would never have to feel lost or confused again. We wouldn’t have to continue making the same mistakes over and over again.
Perhaps it is because God gave us a free will. He gave us the option to make our own choices. It is up to us to make those choices on our own, or to turn to Him and ask for His help. When we get to that point of relying on Him for direction, we will know without a doubt, that He will lead us to roads we have not yet traveled that will give us the opportunity to experience the many blessings He has in store for us.
When we go through hardships or tragedies we may become so overwhelmed that all we want to do is it stay where we are. We become stuck. We don’t want to continue or move. Maybe it’s fear. We feel safer, because by being still and not moving calms our fears of what might happen next. We have already become familiar with our surroundings and wish to stay and rest awhile. It’s ok to stop, rest and catch your breath. Follow that with reflection and prayer. Ask God to give you the courage and the strength and the desire to continue moving. With His help and guidance, you will continue along to your next destination.
In traveling through the entire maze, we will learn lessons and become stronger and better people. We will live our lives the way God intended, accomplishing His will for us and be able to share our experiences with others. This life is not easy, But think about the feeling we will have when we make it out into the open field. That will be when we will live in the eternal life with God. We will be rewarded for all the hard work we had to endure in order to get there. We will have passed the test. One in which we know was traveled with God by our side. He wants us to make it. He will always be cheering us on, and He will be the one who will welcome us with open arms. We will have finished the race and come out a true winner.
May God bless you!
