Justin Bieber may be this year’s biggest breakthrough act with a world tour, Platinum-plus selling album, book deal and movie deal but the teen heartthrob is very much appreciative.
According to Bieber, who just signed on to perform at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, just being asked to take the stage with top acts like Kanye West and fellow breakthrough artist, Drake, is an honor.
“Just really shows that dreams can come true and what incredible dedicated fans I have. I’m a lucky guy and grateful,” Bieber said in a statement Wednesday. “Now I just want to get on that stage, have some fun in front of my heroes because at the end of the day I’m still a kid, and still a fan. Thanks.”
Bieber joins Drake, Kanye West, and Florence and The Machine, also lined up to perform.
Trey Songz, Ke$ha, Emma Stone, Selena Gomez, Penn Badgley and more are set to present.
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards air Sunday, September 12 on MTV (9PM ET).
