20 years old, “Jordin Sparks”, 2007 American Idol Winner played The Knitting Factory Concert House in Reno Saturday July 3, 2010 to around 300 screaming young fans (mostly young ladies) and their Moms and a few of Dads as well.
Jordin, touring on her 2nd album “Battlefield” played for around 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The set included songs from both “Battlefield” (2009) and her 1st album, self titled “Jordin Sparks” (2007)
She opened with Battlefield and SOS and went on to sing, Watch You Go, 911, It Takes More, Don’t Let It Go To Your Head, One Step, Walking On Snow. No Parade, Freeze, Young & In love, Was I The Only One and finished up with Tattoo and No Air.
Jordins brother, “PJ Sparks” opened the show with a couple of rap songs.
Also opening were “Ashlyne Huff” and “Days Difference”.
Ashlyne, (here’s one to keep an eye on) is touring on her debut album ‘Ashlyne Huff'” (self titled)
Her set included, Comeback, Make It Rain, Sweet Nothing, Break Even, Trippin’ It Up, and her 1st single, Heart Of Gold.
And rounding off the list were, “Days Difference” touring on their 3rd album, self titled “Days Difference”.
Jeremy Smith and brother Jonathan Smith formed Days Difference in May of 2004 with brothers Jeremiah Ricks and Micha Ricks. (that’s right 2 sets of brothers) They meet when Jeremy and Jonathan filled in for a no-show pianist & drummer at a high school concert.
“Mike & Ike” candy sponsored the show and had people handing out free samples of their candy (all you could carry) and as you can imanige everyone including this examiner was on a “sugar high” which was a good idea since alcohol sales were way down for this show. (mostly under age screaming kids)
