Is U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama a Christian, a Muslim, or something else? Recent poll numbers indicate a change in the nation’s perception of his religious beliefs, with the largest portion of the American public undecided and unclear.
The nation-wide poll conducted from July 21 to August 5, 2010 by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life surveyed 3,003 respondents by phone (both landlines and cell phones) in both English and Spanish.
The results, released August 18, 2010, provide the following data in response to the question: “Do you happen to know what Barack Obama’s religon is? Is he Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Bhuddist, Hindu, atheist, agnostic, or something else?”
March 2009 August 2010
Christian 48% 34% (down 14%)
Muslim 11% 18% (up 7%)
Other 1% 2% (up 1%)
Don’t Know 34% 43% (up 9%)
Refused 6% 1% (down 5%)
As you can see, an increasing number of people now believe that Barack Hussein Obama is indeed a Muslim while fewer believe him to be a Christian as he has claimed. The largest percentage simply do not know what to think of Obama’s religious beliefs.

As Pamela Geller once said “I don’t know if President Obama is a Muslim … I do know that if he were a Muslim, he wouldn’t be doing anything different.” (see video)
