Once known as Cynthia McKinney’s seat, Georgia 4 is now represented by Democrat Hank Johnson who has been serving the people of Dekalb and Rockdale counties since 2007. This is a heavily democrat district, and is favored to stay blue in 2010.
Hank Johnson – politics as usual
With more and more people becoming disappointed with the Obama agenda, this election season is ripe for change, even in one of the most democrat districts in the country. Hank Johnson voted for Health Care reform, and the 787 billion dollar stimulus package. Hank Johnson has been able to funnel over a half billion stimulus dollars to the 4th District, specifically, some 234 million into the Dekalb and Rockdale public schools. This stimulus money hasn’t really helped to save teachers’ jobs, since 430 teachers have been laid off in Dekalb County alone since the stimulus package was passed.
One item of note that could work against Hank Johnson in 2010 is the revelation that he is a member of the Democrat Socialists of America caucus. In a report issued by the organization in October 2009, Hank Johnson was listed as an active member, along with 69 of his colleagues in Congress. Hank Johnson has committed to the socialist agenda within the United States Congress.
However, there is a challenger for the seat in 2010. Liz Carter, a business woman and conservative is a viable alternative to Hank Johnson, and is ideally the best choice to unseat Johnson and flip the seat red in November. Carter is a newcomer to the political world, but brings vast business experience creating and planning budgets and creating jobs. She is committed to a political agenda of limited government, fiscal responsibility and national security. In the July 20 primary, Carter won the Republican nomination with 55% of the vote, avoiding a run off. She has been endorsed by the Atlanta 912 group and the leaders of the Atlanta Tea Party Patriots as well as law enforcement and statewide elected officials in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Liz Carter is not a career politician. She is a pro-life, pro-second amendment conservative with strong family values and is committed to restoring this country to the principles of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.
The Right Choice at the Right Time
The people of Georgia 4 have a viable alternative in 2010 to politics as usual. Liz Carter is that choice. So when she asks you for your vote on November 2, make the logical choice, and cast the ballot for Liz Carter. Conservative. Republican.
