Classroom is a place where the child spends most of the time. It may be defined as the second home for the child. Creating a healthy atmosphere does not only highlight upon the teacher’s presence in the classroom but also her ability to control and manage her students to meet the basic needs of physical as well as mental health. The teacher must advice the child to be neatly dressed while coming to school. The child must feel welcome by the teacher who can do this by greeting the child with a smile. Moreover she has to teach the child good eating habits and the requirements of a healthy diet and the importance of coming clean and tidy to class. It might sometimes happen that a teacher might not be able to cater to all the children at the same time but at least she should try her best to connect with all the children in some way or the other.
A teacher might face some difficulties at times with some particular child not eating the lunch or not liking the taste of it. How then can the teacher make the child to eat? Well it’s very simple. Engage the child into a conversation on some interesting topic or divert the attention of the child to something interesting so that the child somehow finishes his food. This was just one example. There can be other ways also in which the teacher can comfort her students and build a healthy ambiance in the classroom.

Love, Freedom, Security and Fun are the main ingredients that frames the teacher’s responsibility to cater to the child’s mental health and nourish it with these factors. With the help of these factors a teacher can contribute a lot to make the classroom climate fresh and healthy.
Children loves to be loved and pampered and specially when all the attention comes from its teacher. Love each and every student of yours unselfishly. Do not distinguish between an intelligent child and an average learner. A child should feel the warmth and concern in your eyes. Teachers don’t have to go out of their way to prove their love for the little ones but can try out simple ways to make the child feel special. Simple ways like knowing the child by its name, interacting with the child on its likes and dislikes, asking questions about its family, hobbies and many more such things.
Give freedom to the child to dream, imagine, think, analyze and make mistakes. A child will always make mistakes and learn from it at the same time. Do not pass negative comments on the child for making a mistake. Help the child to find out the areas where it has gone wrong. Let the child come out with its own responses, ideas, thoughts and views. Trust the child’s imaginative point of view and help the child to comprehend them through words of its own. Appreciate the child for its response with a positive remark or a reward. Help the child to be confidant and feel free about sharing its thoughts and ideas with its peers.
A child should feel safe and secured in the presence of the teacher. Do not rebuke the child in front of its peers because a child is very sensitive about its position in front of its peers. Avoid passing personal comments on the child. This might create a negative impact on the child leading to dire consequences.

Finally fun in learning is assumed to be one of the most important factors responsible in shaping the healthy mood of the classroom atmosphere. A teacher should include a lot of activities in her lesson and try to make the lesson as interesting as possible. Be lively and show a lot of enthusiasm in the classroom where every child should feel connected with you. Be a guide and help the child to enjoy every bit of the lesson taught. Try to pay encourage the slow learners to participate in activities related to the topics taught in class.
A classroom can have its atmosphere healthy and happy only when the child feels a part of it. To make the child feel this way the teacher must put in her efforts to create a healthy environment in the classroom. She must be successful in making the child feel connected of this healthy place so that it will cherish each and every moment spent inside the classroom from the very first day of this new academic session.
