Joining Barack Hussein Obama in his support of a mosque at the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Mahmoud al-Zahar, leader of the Muslim terrorist group Hamas, has declared he, too supports the idea. Al-Zahar joins Obama and other Muslims around the world in the endorsement of the Muslim community center and place of worship only two blocks from where the Twin Towers once stood.
According to a report in the New York Post, Al-Zahar declared that he stands with Obama on the issue, saying, ‘We have to build everywhere.’ He added that Hamas represented a united from of Muslims in support of the mosque. He further declared that, “Islam is controlling every source of our life as regard to marriage, divorce, our commercial relationships… Even the Islamic people or the Muslims in your country, they are living now in the tradition of Islam.”
Al-Zahar joins hundreds of terrorist Muslims in their endorsement of the site. Reported in the Wall Street Journal, the pastor of the church next-door to the proposed site, Rev. William Rench, said he is concerned with comments he has read from the American Muslim community, asserting that Islam is the ‘dominant’ religion.
Despite Obama’s endorsement of the Mosque and celebration of the Muslim festival of Ramadan in our White House, not to mention the downplaying of the National Day of Prayer instated by President Truman, the Muslims in America still don’t think he’s doing enough. According to the Wall Street Journal, the chairman of the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley declared that Obama ‘should be more firm about it… he should assure the Muslim community they have a right to build over there.’
The backing of the mosque by Hamas, besides drawing Obama’s loyalties into question, has also reflected very poorly on the Muslim responsible for the mosque scheme to begin with. Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Imam who wants the mosque put at the site, refused to comment on Hamas’ endorsement, and has repeatedly refused to even call Hamas a terrorist organization.
Obama’s support has also stirred anger here in Tennessee, where Muslims are trying to establish several mosques. A minister in Murfreesboro, where Muslims want an even bigger mosque than they’ve already built, highlighted the hypocrisy in Obama’s appeal to freedom of religion, echoing the Hamas declaration that Muslims are ‘living now in the tradition of Islam.’ Darrel Whaley of Kingdom Ministries Worship Center, said, ‘if Islam comes in with Sharia law, there’s not going to be any such thing as religious freedom.’ Mr Whaley was referring to the aspect of Sharia, or Muslim religious law, that weighs heavy taxes on dhimmi, or monotheists (it condemns polytheists to death) unless they convert to Islam.
Sharia has already been forced through by Muslims in Great Britain, though it has been successfully blocked on the continent. It is enforced most stringently in Iran, where homosexuals, infidels, and disobedient women are killed in a variety of ways, most popularly by stoning.
Memphis residents join their fellow Tennesseans in concern at what would happen if a major mosque were to be constructed in New York. A Cordova resident commented that he has seen John Stewarts mockery of opposition to the mosque on The Daily Show, ‘he sits there and makes fun of Newt Gingrich and mockingly asks “why should we hold ourselves to higher standards of religious freedom than Saudi Arabia??” and idiots will watch that show and eat it all up. They don’t grasp what happens when Islam comes to a new country, what happens when Sharia comes to a new country. We won’t have any standards of religious freedom if we let these people get a foothold in our country.”
He was joined by a Germantown man sitting with him who said, “If you want to pursue the freedom of religion argument, it’s better to put the Muslims in their place for the sake of the freedom of Hindus, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Shintos, and everyone else, because if you give the Muslims the freedom to do whatever they want, they’re not going to extend the same courtesy to everyone else. Saying, “it’s their right to build the mosque, it’s their right to have Sharia, we have to respect their laws and customs,” is nothing short of cultural suicide.’
