Halo: Reach launches September 14; just under a month away. While any Halo fan may be fully aware of the three versions available, many may not be aware of retailer specifics. What does that mean? It means your Halo: Reach purchase may be a bit more difficult than thought.
Considering the competitive nature of game sales amongst most major local retailers, it’s understandable that each chain would want to lure customers in with the best incentive possible. So who has the better deal? Read on and decide for yourself.
GameStop – Those that pre-order Halo: Reach at GameStop will receive a token for an exclusively designed armor permutation, the UA Multi-Threat Mjolnir Mark V[B] Armor to use for multiplayer.
Best Buy – Currently, Best Buy is only offering bonuses to members of their RewardZone Gamers Club. Pre-order the game and you will receive 500 bonus points on launch day after picking up the game, which is equal to $10. Additionally, those who pre-order the Legendary or Limited Editions will receive 3-months or 1-month of Xbox LIVE free after pick-up, respectively. However this offer has only been seen in-store.
Wal-Mart – While anything has yet to be displayed in-stores, Wal-Mart is offering a $20 eGift Card for those that pre-order Halo: Reach through Wal-Mart.com.
Target – Again, while in-store offers have yet to surface, Target.com is offering free shipping on orders over $50.
Just by glancing, it appears Best Buy possibly has the best offer. Unless shiny armor is your thing; in which you may go with GameStop’s offer. Regardless, do be sure to verify all offers at time of pre-order.
