Wednesdays can be tough days for a number of reasons. They fall in the middle of a work week, assignments from Monday and Tuesday are now piling up on the desks of many, and Friday deadlines are fast approaching. While one could continue working into the wee hours to finish this week’s set of tasks and projects, it might be easier to give yourself a little ‘pick me up.’
Here are a few options.
- The Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner( http://www.RitzCarlton.com/Tysons) has ‘Wined Down Wednesdays,’ where every Wednesday from 5-8 in their Entyse Lounge, they hand select wines to taste by the glass, coupled with a seafood plates. (www.entyse.com, call 703-506-4300 for reservations.)
- The Donovan House, a Thompson Hotel, (http://www.thompsonhotels.com) hosts ‘Sunset Wednesdays’ on their rooftop. From 5:30 – 7:30 PM, you can get ½ price off of their sushi, and $7.00 beers, wine or rail drinks. Then, starting at 8:00 PM, the magical DJ’s spin lounge favorites until closing. The Donovan House is located at 1155 14th Street, NW on the south east corner of Thomas Circle.
- The 18th Street Lounge (http://www.eighteenthstreetlounge.com) features live reggae music from SEE-I. This week featured the new up and coming keyboardist from Italy, Enea Diotatiuti (http://www.eneadiotaiuti.com). Music starts at 10:30 PM, but the cocktail hour starts right after the laptops are closed. They are located at 1212 18th St NW.
Wednesdays do not have to be the hardest days if you have a mini break planned with a few friends.
