Detroit Brides: I posted an earlier article about a new wedding directory website coming to a computer near you. The original article was based on a press release announcing the upcoming launch of WeddingInquiry.com. Since then, I have contacted the creator of the site, Phillip Brunelle. He has shared with me his background, the reason for the new directory, and what plans are in place to set his wedding website apart from the rest.
Meet the Creator and President: Phillip Brunell, the sole creator and president of Wedding Inquiry, is a Massachusetts-based wedding photographer.
“My experiences in searching for brides to book business as a wedding photographer, along with some of the stories I have heard and experiences I have witnessed, and my passion in the wedding industry have all inspired me to create my premier website, Wedding Inquiry.”
The directory: Once launched, Wedding Inquiry will provide a national directory for brides, grooms, and wedding planners to search for their perfect vendors. That’s the expected part. Every wedding site has a directory. But what added bonus will WeddingInquiry.com include?
Vendor listings will include reviews and ratings from other brides and grooms to assist in the selection process. Imagine being able to see what other brides are saying? Were they pleased? Did the vendor make their dream day a reality? Or was the experience a nightmare? Rating systems have been used for airlines, hotels, restaurants, etc. You can even search recipe sites for highly rated entrées. Well, now brides can also read reviews – the good, the bad, and the ugly – on their local photographers, reception sites, etc, and see a list of how they rank against the others.
Integrity of reviews: Owner Phillip Brunelle is committed to the integrity of his website’s vendor reviews: “I plan to separate my website from others like it in one way by actually verifying the ratings and reviews that are left for the vendors.” As a photographer, Brunelle has seen competitors in the industry post false reviews for other vendors in hopes to gain business. This slander will not be tolerated on Wedding Inquiry, according to Brunelle. All reviews will be manually approved by the website before being displayed. Measures will be taken to verify that reviews are coming from actual customers, and not vendors hoping to slander their competitors.
No more repetition! Looking to create her perfect wedding day, a bride has to share the wedding details (date, number of guests, etc.) and ask the same questions over and over as she contacts several vendors under each category…. Now imagine this: the bride fills out a single inquiry form, listing all of her wedding details, requirements, expectations, and even her budget for each type of vendor. She then chooses the types of vendors she is looking for, the maximum number of responses she wants and sends it off. Vendors will see her inquiry and respond accordingly, negating the need for the bride to constantly repeat the same things over and over again.
WeddingInquiry.com will offer this option! A bride’s inquiry will be made available to vendors in the bride’s specified location, and they can send her their information directly. In addition, by listing her maximum number of responses, once that maximum is reached, no other vendors will be able to respond. By having this feature, brides will not be inundated with responses.
In-depth, priceless, information: This new website will feature more than just a directory. It will also include many in-depth articles educating the bride and groom on the planning process. When a couple is first engaged, they may feel overwhelmed with questions. Now, they can turn to the Wedding Inquiry for answers from experts in the field. As an example, here is an article explaining what to expect, what to ask, and what to be aware of when booking a photographer: Finding A Wedding Photographer.
Forums: Brides, grooms, and vendors can also converse with other brides, grooms, and vendors in forums. Brunelle states that these forums will be a spam-free area allowing people to share experiences, stories, inspiration, or even to network with others.
When will the site be launched?? Brunelle is aiming to launch his new site by the summer’s end. The general layout of the website is complete, but he is now in the process of adding all of the content. The site is already showing up on search engines, so it’s just a matter of getting the information loaded. Brunelle is the sole creator of the site – and as a wedding photographer, his time is understandably divided between his brides and the site. Let’s hope he will be able to get the site up and running as planned!
