Of the thousands of golf courses across the United States, Alabama ranks upon the top in many categories in a multitude of courses. Alabama boasts the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and the many facilities that follow that servitude. Cullman Golf Course may not be part of RTJ, but they can compete with the many courses that follow RTJ. Cullman Golf Course is located in the southern part of Cullman on what is predominantly known as Golf Course Road.
Cullman Golf Course is a 6351 yard course that offers some challenging hazards for the novice and pro alike. Novice tees are set at 5996 yards, while the seniors can tee off with a course 4897 yards if they choose. The ladies and young can shoot the course 4527 yards at the shortest tees, if they so choose.
All but three holes on the course offer some kind of water hazard in some shape or form. Four holes offers slight sand trap challenges, with Holes 2,3 and 18 having sand traps around or in front of the green, while Hole 1 has a sand trap along the right side of the fairway.
Holes 15, 16 and 17 share a common water hazard in a huge lake on the back side of the property, while Hole 10 has a 100+ yard water hazard on the approach from the tee box to the fairway and green. Holes 5, 10, 13 and 16 are the only par threes on the course, which require cart path only travel. Holes 4 and 6 give the avid golfer a challenge, as the greens are atop steep inclines from the second shot on each hole.
Holes 2, 7, 8, 9 and 17 each have a dog-leg to the left, while Holes 6 and 15 have a slight dog-leg that approaches to the right. Of course the toughest holes on any given course has to be the Par 5 holes. Cullman Golf Course gives you four of these challenges on its course, with two each on the front nine and back nine partitions. Hole 2 and 6 gives the powerful driver a chance at the rare Eagle, as does Holes 17 and 18 to close out the course. Hole 11 is a straight up and down to a varied sloping green.
