The Butterfinger Defense League – made up of Hollywood superheroes Erik Estrada, Lou Ferrigno and Charisma Carpenter – recently hit Comic Con hard! The gutsy, stylish and funny Defense League – who all rock Butterfinger team spirit and whose mission is to not let anybody lay a finger on your Butterfinger – dished on Comic Con, vampires and their personal superheros. Grab a Butterfinger…or two thousand…and check it out…
MM: What was the tastiest thing about Comic Con?
Erik Estrada: All the babes walking around in the see-through outfits! [laughs] No, I love the acknowledgement from the fans. Everybody screams and yells “hey Ponch!” They give me the thumbs up surfer hands. I love meeting new talent and seeing what’s going on. This is a one of a kind experience.
MM: Vampires are infesting the planet. What would you do if a vampire tried to swipe your Butterfinger?
EE: I’d say, “Freak, suck on a Butterfinger instead of my neck.”
MM: Who’s your fav superhero?
EE: I like the cowboys. Steve McQueen andTyrone Power…those were my heroes. CHiPs was a little bit like that – except it was two guys on a motorcycle instead of a horse.
MM: What’s the latest with you?
EE: I’m hosting and producing “World’s Funniest Moments”. It airs in September on KTLA.
MM: Super cool new interactive Butterfinger graphic novel…
Lou Ferrigno: Butterfinger’s graphic novel shows a different side. Because adults love comics, but children love graphic novels. It’s a great method to get Butterfingers out there. Butterfinger is over 80 yeas old, so the graphic novel is about empowering a new generation.
MM: For those not acquainted (unthinkable) with the Butterfinger Defense League, can you give a run through of the League’s super powers?
LF: I’m strength. Charisma is sassy and Erik has his sexy powers.
MM: The Butterfinger Interactive Graphic Novel is crazy cool because you get to transform into your own type of superhero. Who would you want to transform into. We’re talking anyone in the entire universe…and beyond.
LF: I’d transform into the “King of Queens” and keep the legacy going for 30 years.
MM: What projects are you working on?
LF: I work as a deputy sheriff and I also just shot a pilot with my family called “The Incredible Ferrignos.” It’s a reality show about changing the mental health and lives of people.
MM: Greetings Comic Con veteran, what’s your favorite thing about the convention?
Charisma Carpenter: I’ve been coming to Comic Con for so many projects. The most startling thing is watching it grow. People have gotten the idea that geeks need to be acknowledged as a group and brought into the fold.
MM: What superhero would you like to be?
CC: I’d vote yes to be Wonder Woman!
MM: As a master vampire slayer, what would you do if vampire tried to swipe your Butterfinger?
CC: It’s so crispity and crunchity it would break in half if I tried to stake someone. It’s not a good weapon…I’m a weapon. I’d protect my Butterfinger if someone tried to swipe it. I’d stick my hands on them and fight.
MM: Must ask – what was it like working with the nonstop Jason Statham in your upcoming film “The Expendables”
CC: Jason is really nice and cool. He’s very serious about his job and so unbelievably good at what he does. The best example was I asked him what degree black belt he was and he said “I don’t have any.” Everything is movie moves! It’s a testament to his natural skills and how focused he is.
MM: Butterfinger recently announced the addition of a 4th Defense League Member (woo-hoo). Who else would make a delicious addition to the League?
CC: The Dalai Lama would be a great Butterfinger Defense League Member…and use his mind as a trap! He could focus, levitate and take things to another level.
MM: What about President Obama?
CC: He’d fight using his negotiation skills.
