Al Franken, Democrat “Senator” from Minnesota, has once again articulated why all Democrats, including “conservative” “Blue Dog” Democrats, need to go. You probably recall that the other day, while trying to rally the reluctant “professional left” to vote in November, he accidentally spoke the truth about why they need to support Democrats, no matter how odiously conservative. (Franken would know, since he’s pretty much a member of the professional left himself.)
This time, speaking about South Dakota Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, who’s having a tough time with her reelection campaign, Franken said recently, “She has voted differently than I voted on a couple of things, but we need to be able to have somebody here in South Dakota who’s going to vote for Speaker Pelosi, not for Speaker Boehner,” explained Franken.
No doubt Herseth Sandling, with a lifetime American Conservative Union rating of about 30, has horrified Franken (so far rated 0.00) with some of her right-wing votes. There are a lot of the rest of who’d also be horrified to be represented by a Congresswoman with a rating of 30, but not exactly for the same reason as Franken.
But Franken’s dead right to be afraid of Speaker Boehner, because when he assumes the office, large scale investigations of 0bama Administration wrongdoing will begin. For example, today Rep. Darrell Issa today released a report detailing the Administration’s massive misuse of government funds to propagandize and develop astroturf support for its extreme left wing agenda. Federal law specifically prohibits agencies of the executive branch from spending appropriated funds for activities that are directly or indirectly “intended or designed to influence in any manner a Member of Congress, to favor or oppose… any legislation or appropriation by Congress…”
Franken has unwittingly tipped us off to the best possible reason to oppose these “Blue Dog” Democrats, and we have one of them right here in central Pennsylvania – Rep. Tim Holden of the 17th District. Holden identifies himself as a “conservative” Democrat, in spite of the fact that he gets less than a 39 rating from the ACU. By comparison, outgoing Democrat Senator Arlen Specter gets a 44. Apart from that, however, Holden will help re-elect Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House if he gets the chance. That would give Pelosi another 2 years to continue implementing her extreme liberal agenda, which pretty much mirrors what 0bama has in mind for us.
Recall, too, that Queen Nancy I also vowed to “drain the swamp” of political corruption when her party took control of congress almost four years ago. We’ve seen how that’s gone, haven’t we?
Why, then, settle for conservative lite? Vote for the real thing – Dave Argall in the PA 17th – in November.
Let’s say “goodbye” to all the Democrats, especially Blue Dogs!
