The Performance Leader’s “Review” of Rodan + Fields Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream
A nurse in California recently brought theperformanceleader.com website to my attention because it claims to do original reviews “compiled and written by members of a nationwide panel of consumers.” The nurse was concerned because the site claims, “The goal of these product reviews is to evaluate health and beauty treatments based on safety, effectiveness, customer support and value,” but she had noticed the “reviews” seemed sketchy and inaccurate. She sent me a link to the Rodan + Fields Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream “review” and suggested I look into it.
Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream Review
Out of all the products Rodan + Fields makes, the website picked Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream to review–the product that most closely matches the site’s hidden agenda, which is the sneaky affiliate marketing of the wrinkle cream Hydroxatone (see Does the The Performance Leader website for beauty product reviews really do product reviews?). Like the other “reviews,” on The Performance Leader site, the information is all drawn from the product’s website, including the good points and list of ingredients. There is no attempt to really review the Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream.
Under the good points the site lists:
- Products were created by dermatologists
- Full list of ingredients is available for each product
Under the bad points the site lists:
- Anti-Age Regimen is $160
- Not a lot of proven anti-wrinkle ingredients listed with these products
- Product descriptions don’t go into detail about what the product will do
Debunking The Performance Leader’s Errors
Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream Price
The list of errors begins with the price. The multi-product Anti-Age Therapy Regime is $160 but that’s NOT the product the site says it is reviewing. The Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream supposedly being reviewed is almost $60 less than the Anti-Age MultiMed Therapy Regime.
Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream Ingredients
Next The Performance Leader, which lists all the ingredients, says “there aren’t a lot of proven anti-wrinkle ingredients listed.” Among the proven anti-wrinkle, anti-aging ingredients listed in their “review” but ignored by The Performance Leader in their “bad points” are the peptides Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, and amino-acids like Hydrolyzed Fish Collagen and Lauryldimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Soy Protein to boost collagen production.
From Googling some of the ingredient listed, one learns the Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream also contains other anti-aging ingredients including Creatine, Linoleic Acid; emollients like Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Cetyl Alcohol, Jojoba Esters, Astrocaryum Murumuru Butter; antioxidants and vitamin supplements including Caffeine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract; and humectants, moisturizers and skin conditioners such as Butylene Glycol, Yeast Extract, Avocado Oil, St. Paul’s Wort Extract, Cholesterol, Micrococcus Lysate, Sodium Hyaluronate and PEG-8–to name a few. All of these ingredients work together to fight wrinkles as well as many other signs of aging.
What Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream Does
Finally, The Performance Leader, says the product descriptions don’t go into detail about what the product will do. Yet, on the same page, The Performance Leader site has already stated that the Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream “claims to moisturize, repair cellular damage, retain water, and also boost your skin’s natural collagen production.” In fact, the Rodan + Fields website goes further, stating that the Night Recovery Cream contains patented Ultrasomes, which are DNA anti-aging ingredients. These Ultrasomes help repair cellular damage, fight wrinkles, sagging skin and loss of tone and elasticity.
So based upon The Performance Leader’s own “review” and the Rodan + Field’s site, it can be determined that Anti-Age Night Recovery Cream moisturizes, repairs cellular damage, retains water, boosts the skin’s natural collagen production, and fights wrinkles, sagging skin and loss of tone and elasticity.
