By now, it’s true, there is an app for nearly everything.
Dating back to watching the Jetsons on TV, you’ve dreamt of a life of convenience. You’ve imagined having the remote that takes care of everything.
Well it has finally arrived. You can now hold the remote that does it all. Even better, the remote is your smartphone. Control4 has enabled their award-winning, ease-of-use protocol for download on Iphone, Blackberry and Android smartphones. This app allows users of Control4 to save money on expensive control pads and opt for the free app on Iphone Appstore, Blackberry AppWorld and Android Marketplace.
Control4 has replaced magic with science and has taken TV, movies, Ipods, lighting, thermostats, home security and even automated door locks and integrated them all together, allowing you to monitor and control them from anywhere at all. During January 2010’s CES (consumer electronics show) Control4 announced partnerships with over 25 brands that will allow full integration with their products. Sony, Yamaha and LG lead the audio/ video category. HDTVs from these and other brands will work as Control4 menu screens. Blu-ray players can be accessed and displayed in other rooms. A/V Receivers can be adjusted and even set to turn on or off by time, day or by different user.
A partnership with Black and Decker and their brands Kwikset and Balwin allow users to monitor their doors through the interface. Kwikset Smart Code with Home Connect can check the status of doors left unlocked and lock them, even open or close the garage door from work. Different user codes allow parents the ability to know when their children arrive or leave the home at any time of the day. No more sneaking out at night.
The lighting products, led by brands: Lutron electronics and MechoShade Systems are the icing on the cake when it comes to Control4’s home automation and product integration. Once a user has set their custom settings, they will be able to arrive home, unlock the door with their smartphone and activate specific light settings and window shade settings. You can have it so when you arrive home at night the lights will be at a bright 100%, the shades will be drawn for privacy and the TV or music will be on, waiting for you. Another huge factor used with the lighting integration is the “green” factor. Light and temperature settings can be arranged to run at lower percentages at different times of the day, for different days. Imagine always running your lights at 80%. That 20% that you aren’t using is 20% you are saving for the environment AND your pocket.
All of these luxuries can be used for new or existing homes. Control4 offers wired or wireless technology. New homes are being wired for Control4 systems but older homes, already built can enjoy the same products because they can all be retrofit as a wireless unit. No one is left out, as Control4 is the most often chosen buy installers because of its affordability and user friendliness.
