The nationally syndicated Michael Brown show out of Denver was loudly reverberating with high energy the other night. The show was on absolutely on fire with callers expressing intensely intelligent and deeply emotional thoughts . The topic was the proposed mosque near to ground Zero in New York.. The proposal to build this One Hundred Million dollar structure aroused listeners to a degree seldom heard .
It was determined that ,although the Muslim community has a right to build in that location so near to Ground Zeri , that is just “wrong to do so”. A truly great discussion was held on the right to do a thing vs. the right thing to do. Intelligent and informed participants made it truly worthwhile listening.
Fascinating dialog with the flaming heat of powerful emotion was heard in the caller’s voices.
Obama’s seeming backtracking from his original endorsement to the construction and later withdrawal of a strong favorable position was meaty food for thought in the discussions . His lack of the American spirit due to being raised in Indonesia in his formative years was a point of deep consideration by Mr. Brown.
A proposal of a Fox News host in regard to the Mosque is that donations be sought to build to build a gay bar very near to it. This position and others like it demonstrate that people are intense in ways that we have not seen for a very long time. This is a fire- in- the- belly issue if ever there was one!. Also mentioned was a new website wherein New York construction workers pledge by signing it that ” they would rather stave that work on the project.”
It is clear that the American people are taking a very firm and immovable stand on this issue while at the same time strictly differentiating between the right to do a thing and it being wrong to do it. . With impeccable logic yet firm convictions, the listeners stood their ground with dignity and with power.
Many of the construction workers who are refusing to work on the proposed mosque are the very ones who built the Trade Center and then worked again at removing the steel and rubble . It is difficult to imagine how painful and infuriating that removal of debris , and bodies, must have been for those men. Many of them were stricken with fatal lung diseases from that hollowed task.
The construction workers will be a considerable factor in how difficult it will be to build anything in New York without their skills and expertise. This talk show was one of the most rousing in a very long time .http://850koa.com
People are energized in ways that have not been seen over issues that effect them even more personally and directly. Less fury was heard over food stamp cuts and the pain of unemployment. These issues effect Denver people directly and profoundly. The once sleeping Tiger is wide awake.
The American Spirit is alive and well in Denver. That is clear.
