Clothes are said to make the man…if that’s true, what happens when we apply the principles of Feng Shui to our clothing choices?
Clothing makes the Feng Shui Goddess come alive!
Feng Shui can empower you. Feng Shui creates environments that nurture and support you and help you achieve balance. The most powerful environment around you is YOU!
Using Feng Shui to support your physical body empowers you emotionally, physically and mentally.
When you feel good about yourself you naturally experience greater levels of creativity, recognition and success. You feel better about yourself when you feel good in the clothes you wear. Feeling good, looking good!
In Feng Shui there are Five Elements, each element has it own associations from color, shape, fabric, pattern, accessories and season to the dynamic energy of the element itself. Incorporating this information into your clothing choices can help you embrace your inner Feng Shui Goddess!
Each of us is composed of a combination of all the elements, but we also align primarily with one. When choosing clothing you can align with your inherent energy or you can choose to align with the energy of the element that best supports your desires at this time
For example: if you tend to be a bigger than life personality, full of vitality and fire, you may want to tone it down a bit by adding the Water element to your clothing selection.
Water is all about flow, adaptability and fluidity. There is a calm serenity associated with water. Water clothing is soft and flowing, easy to move to in. Chiffons, jersey knits, stretch velvet. Think comfort and movement not revealing or clingy.
Water clothes incorporate a wide range of colors, black, blue, purple or plum, metallic’s, and pastels. Picture Monet’s Water Lily series of paintings, even though the colors are soft and light there is great movement and water energy in them. Water colors tend to be clear, not muted or cloudy.
Black or dark blue for movement and flow
White for clarity and support
Grey for inspiration
Silver for creativity
Gold for abundance and power
Patterns and shapes – paisley, wavy, curved and circular
Stones – clear quartz crystal, jet, ebony, pearls, lapis lazuli, blue sapphire, white opal, turquoise
If water feels like you, or you think you need a little fluidity in your life, go with the flow. Wear comfortable, flowing clothes, incorporate black, blue and white.
Embrace your Inner Feng Shui Water Goddess!
