It must be a week for baseball injuries. Carlos Santana, catcher for the Cleveland Indians injured his knee and was taken off the field on a stretcher.
In a valiant, stellar successful attempt to block a score, Carlos stood firm as Red Sox runner Ryan Kalish came barreling toward home and ended up sliding right into Carlos’ leg. The knee evidently buckled.
It is doubtful that he will play in today’s game at Boston according to CBS Sports.
Other reports say he may be hurt, but still be able to fight the pain and play hurt.
Fantasy League players who have Santana on their team may be in trouble.
That reminds me of the famous Biblical wrestler Jacob. Jacob wrestled with an angel all night and was still going at it after dawn broke. Seeing that Jacob was still goig strong, the angel touched the hollow of Jason’s thigh and put it out of joint. J
ason still wrestled and refused to give up even though he was hurting. The angel wanted to go, but Jacob refused to let go until after the angel had blessed him. The angel finally blessed Jason and changed Jacob’s name to Israel.
