The publisher of Capital Region Building magazine has announced the coming of a edition dedicated to green building. Rita Stevens said: “We have been covering developments in green building for many years but with mixed response. Environmentally responsible, sustainable building is now closer to the mainstream than it has ever been. More and more consumers are asking for green concepts to be applied both in new homes and remodeling projects. More and more builders and suppliers are meeting the demand. While the emphasis remains on energy conservation, “healthy house,” durablity and other environmental concerns are increasingly being addressed. Consequently an annual green edition will serve both our building industry readers and our consumer readers.”
Ms. Stevens also said the issue will include not only examples of high end, full-out new green construction it will also address lesser tactics builders and homeowners can apply. Identifying true green products and their sources of supply — and not the pretenders— will also be a priority.
The edition is expected to appear at retail outlets and online by late September. Readers can go to Capitalregionbuilding.com to comment or for more information.
