CANDID BEATLES PHOTOS TO BE AUCTIONED IN AUGUST: Rare photos of the Beatles pop up all the time, but most are usually professionally done. The Daily Mail has a story about a fan who developed a friendship with the Fabs and visited them every weekend for two years and got some remarkable shots that will be auctioned in August. Roughly 50 photos (lot 196) are being sold. Also being sold: ten unpublished photos from 1963 (lot 235). Both can be seen on the Cameo Auctions website.
NO REASON TO GO GAGA: Is anyone else as irked by the Lady Gaga piano story as we are? Not because she played the piano, but because it’s even a story at all. Sean Lennon had the best idea, as reported in the New York Daily News. After originally posting the picture on the internet, he took it down because of the complaints, but said, “Pianos meant are to be played. What should we do, lock it away in a dusty room? So judgmental…Come on, lighten up… life’s too short, there’re enough real problems in the world.” Agreed. And put the photo back up, Sean.
