The newest “American Idol” airplay numbers are in, and it means good news for Adam Lambert fans. Following yet another successful week of increased airplay, “If I Had You” has jumped seven spots on USA Today’s chart (which compiles information from all past chart alum) to #14. The majority of the songs it passed over were old hits from Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, who is currently leading the charts with country hit “Undo It” (though she is too busy on her honeymoon to really notice).
Meanwhile, Adam also is starting to close in on an old friend — Kris Allen. “The Truth” is sitting at #12 on the chart, and will it is succeeding very well in the Hot AC format, there simply aren’t the same sort of numbers there that are available for Adam in the Top 40. If this momentum continues, expect to see Adam in the top ten of the “Idol” airplay chart soon.
Do you think that “If I Had You” will ultimately be as popular of a single as “Whataya Want From Me”? Feel free to share your thoughts with a commenta nd stay tuned for more “American Idol” news. To view recent photos of Adam, follow the link here.
